Can Staff Meetings and Parties Boost Work Morale?

Can Staff Meetings and Parties Boost Work Morale? photo 1Even an employee who likes his/her job can feel the wear and tear of the office environment.  All is takes is one person or experience to bring the staff luster of work down a notch.  A bad staff work environment can continue to sprial downward if it's not taken care of before it gets out of control.  People talk among themselves and vent to each other when management isn't around.  If there is already some resentful feelings towards management, or each other, this can be a toxic situation.   The team that may have been once strong could easily disintgrate with a change in social dynamics.  This could have a serious impact on work productivity.  It's amazing the correlation between the two.  This is why there are businesses that focus only on team building and visit other organizations to help do so.

Some organization have team building days on their own and have become habitual.  However, staff can sometimes resent these days, and the work environment even more, especially if the team building days add more work to employees who already feel over worked and underappreciated.

This is where a office party might be beneficial instead.  If the employees feel too busy in their work environment to even socialize with each other this is a perfect chance to bring everyone together in a framed social situation.  It can lighten the mood and make people feel appreciated and give the opportunity to unwind and relax at the work place for a change.  Chances are the people will just want to have fun and enjoy if it's a good one.

A more positive connection with work and the people in it will take place and morale will lighten up.  You will find less negative venting eventually because staff will want to just relax if given the opportunity.  Everyone shares a common desire and that's for "happiness".  If your work environment is too far gone with staff morale then perhaps an outside team building company with trained people to handle conflict resolution is the better solution.

The investment of hosting an amazing office staff party could lead to a lot of benefits.  The  fact that you could warm the hearts of your employees and have the best staff morale in town is reason for sure.
